Do I need a referral from a GP?
You do not need a referral from a GP to attend sessions with Penny.  However, if you would like to access medicare rebates for sessions, this will be necessary.

 

What will happen at my first appointment?
At the time of your first appointment, you will be required to bring your Mental Health Care Plan and your Medicare Card, if you would like to access your rebate at the time of consultation.

 

What happens if I am unable to access medicare rebates for sessions?
If you are unable to access both medicare rebates and private health fund rebates, Penny will consider a reduced fee.

 

How many sessions will I need to come in for?
This is a decision that will be made by both yourself and Penny and will be based on the issues that you are presenting with. Even though medicare provides a rebate for 10 sessions per calendar year, this does not necessarily provide a guide to how long treatment might take.
